Monster

In all of Humanity's eyes Monsters are anything that are not normal animals. If they are human like and have even a drop of non human blood in them, they are Monsters. Big, small, short, tall, as long as they are partially not human they fit in the Monster category. The monsters started appearing in the world one year ago and have spread like wildfire, no matter what the Magus or Commoners have tried to do to stop them. Unknown to the Humans, there are eight portals, one in each country, that open to random worlds, spewing out every sort of beast and oddity that they can get their hands on. These portals are so well hidden even the top Magus can't scry them.



Yes, some of the Monsters seem to be a big problem, dealing in only death and destruction, leveling parts of cities and eating the entire livestock of ranches in one go, if not killing and eating humans themselves. But there are some monsters that are harmless and pure of all ill intent, and couldn't hurt anyone even if their lives depended on it, which sometimes it does.



The two main problems that the Humans have with the monsters, are first that they represent the unknown, and a change in lifestyle for everyone, such as people can not go outside of the towns as safely as before. The second problem are the ones that look almost human rather than what they think a monster should look like. There are a few humans that are tolerant to most monsters, but when they find out that there was someone they trusted that wasn't quite human they tend to go off the deep end. And there are fewer still that like the monsters, and welcome them to the world.

Monster Characters:

Remember, If you are a Monster Character, you will need to avoid those in authority, such as Warriors that are working as guards, Hunters that are on the Prowl, Professionals and Adventurers that are looking for a Reward, and pretty much every Magus, except Summoners and maybe Druids. The monsters are widely hated by the populous because they represent an unknown change in their way of life. There are many Devices, Magic Items, and Spells that can detect the presence of a Monster, so you Monster Characters be careful.
