Commoner
The name commoner has nothing to do with social ranking in this case, because of the appearance of the ones called Magus. The Are special humans with special abilities, and so all the other humans call themselves Commoners. The human population makes up at least 90% of all intelligent beings in the world. They rule every country and own every city. So far there has not been a Magus that has ruled a country or city. The populous of Commoners would probably rise up if that were to happen so that they would not all loose their place in life due to the Magus. The commoners are starting to feel threatened by the presence of what they call the Monsters. The Monsters have been harrying every major city to date, and the Commoners are more worried about them right now than the Magus.
Classes
Hunter:
A recently formed guild has surfaced in nearly every city world wide. The Monster Hunter guild has become famous in the last year, ever since the monsters have been appearing. This whole guild's purpose is to suppress or destroy any outbreaks of monsters they come across. Not only do they eliminate those monsters they come across, but they take special requests to eliminate outbreaks of monsters on their mission board. These Hunters come from all walks of life, everything from stealthy woodsmen to burly berzerker types. There are only two requirements to become a hunter. One: Want to kill Monsters. Two: Be a commoner.
Warriors:
The Warrior guild is the second oldest in all of creation. The warriors vary from the common soldier, to the insane berserker, and even to the Templar knights employed in the temples worldwide. They are needed in every city in various jobs, as gate guards, police, and even in swat-like operations. They also accompany Adventurers, Hunters and Merchants every time they leave the city. They make up a large part of the bodyguards for the Magus population as well.
Merchant:
Ahh the illustrious life of a Merchant. Whether in a fixed location or a traveling merchant, they are well loved by all. They are what make the human world go round. If they are a traveling merchant, they are always greeted by the young and old, given a round of free food, and sometimes even a free room at the inn. If they set up a permanent shop in a town, they are well loved because they have, or can get, anything that someone might need. The Merchant guild has houses in every single large town, and many of the small ones.
Smith:
Blacksmiths by trade, called just Smiths by all. They are the ones who provide commoners with every type of good that can be made with a hammer and some know-how. They toil in front of their forges to supply the Soldiers with weapons, 'Professionals' with lock picks, Merchants with wagon parts, and they work very closely with Hunters and Adventurers and their spoils of rare materials to make every sort of thing needed to capture or kill Monsters. Without Smiths the world would be a sad and under equipped place.
Adventurer:
Did you hear of the scary dungeon that was found outside of town? You know, the ancient ruins? You'd better hurry and get there with your group before another set of Adventurers gets there and takes all the hidden treasure. The Adventurer guilds are an ancient and revered group. They search out anything that may be dangerous in hopes to find something that no one has seen before, a bit of treasure, or enchanted wares. They are usually the first on the scene each time a new place has been discovered, ready and raring to explore.
Professional:
They may call themselves 'Professionals' But this group of miscreants are normally called Thieves, Assassins, Bandits, Pirates, and an assortment of words that are better left to your imagination. This guild is composed of all the corrupt Commoners rolled in one, and thrown into a single building. It is in your best interests not to cross the Professionals, if you value your property and your life. The Professionals have hidden guild halls in the basements of alley shops and homes in every single city in each country.
