As he grew up, Sai displayed an intellect beyond many of the priests, a fact that astounded many of them. What amazed them even more was that he showed evidence of being able to use magic at the age of 10, something he tried his best to keep hidden for no reason beyond being afraid of failing somebody who needed healing or anything else that would be expected of him as a priest.
Despite his insistence not to be taught to utilize his magic properly, Sai was forced into learning from the head priest to use holy magic to aid the public as a whole. For the next three years, Sai's life consisted of practicing holy magic along with his general studies. When he was finally done with his magical training, Sai was given more responsibilities outside of the temple putting his magic to work to help people. Ever since then, Sai has spent most of his time between helping people thinking about when he could return to the temple and go back to studying anything he could get his hands on.

Religion: Sai believes in the Goddess of Order, Magic and Knowledge known as Gudrs. According to legend, before Gudrs was born, the god of Chaos and Creation, once known by a name long forgotten and only refered to as th Great Terror, ruled over all he had created with an iron fist. Though he would have prefered to destroy the foolish humans he had created, he knew that without their worship and offerings to him, he would lose his power, and forced worship out of the humans through fear. Over the thousands of years that the Great Terror ruled, humans remained ignorant creatures, lacking both a language to communicate with and the knowledge to create cities, who lied in a constant existance of death of destrution where every day was a battle for survival. However, the Great Terror made a mistake the day he longed for an immortal companion that would never leave or forsake him. Out of the chaos and void that all things were created from, he created a beautiful goddess for himself that he named Gudrs and put her in charge of preventing humans from overcoming their ignorance.
Gudrs did her job as best she could, always looking down on the humans with a mixture of pity and grief. One day, tired of watching the poor human, Gudrs finally decided to help the humans and granted them the gift of language, the simplest gift she could give them and one she hoped would lead to greater advancements of knowledge among them. Her hope proved true as the humans created first civilizations and than rudimentary tools. As they grew more and more intelligent, they turned from worship of the Great Terror to worshipping the benevolent Gudrs. Unable to protect himself, the Great Terror was destroyed and cut into pieces by Gudrs herself. As a gift for their worship of her, Gudrs provided a select group of humans with the gift of magic and taught them to read and write, the latter of which they spread with the rest of the humans. These gifts were granted under the condition that the Great Terror's true name never be spoken, for fear that it would give him the power he required to recreate his very self and return to destroy all that Gudrs and the humans had created and inflict the same punishmnt to Gudrs that she had done to him.
Over the years, groups of humans who carried the spark of magic were chosen out of each generation to carry on Gudrs' legacy by recording all of history into the Great Book of Wisdom, meant to contain everything humans had learned so they could rebuild if the Great Terror were ever to return. The Great Book is considered to be both a great tool for mankind's progression and a weapon against it as within it the Great Terror's true name is written. Before the age of 21, followers are allowed to do as they please, their man goal being to raise money for the temples of Gudrs. At the age of 21, they are made to take a vow to dedicate their lifes to improving and adding to the Great Book of Wisdom, in return being given access to the vast resources of knowledge hidden within. Those who refuse the pledge are forever banished from the temples of Gudrs worldwide and never given the opportunity to read from the Great Book. The followers of Gudrs dress themselves in grey robes with the symbol of their goddess, five stars surronding a staff, stitched into the front with violet thread. At the time of taking the pledge, priests are given a tatoo of a staff on their back. As time goes on and they advance through the ranks, the five stars are added to the tatoo one at a time, the only one having all five being the head priest. As a general rule, all followers who have taken the pledge are vegetarians out of respect for life.
